Temporary Internet in the Netherlands – Short-Term Options
Staying in the Netherlands for a few months, or waiting for a longer contract to start? Most home internet plans tie you in for a year or two, so short-term choices are limited. This page sets out the one-month option in our comparison, how it sits against the wider market, and what to check about your address before you sign up.

The single one-month plan
Of the 65 plans in our comparison, only one runs on a one-month contract term. It comes from Odido and costs €26 per month, both as the introductory price and as the average monthly price, so there is no discount that disappears later. It offers download speeds of 300 Mbps and upload speeds of 30 Mbps, which is enough for video calls, streaming and remote work in most households. You can read more on the Odido provider page. Because it is the only short-term plan we list, it is worth checking whether it reaches your home before planning around it.
How the wider market compares
For context, the full comparison covers 65 plans from Odido, DELTA, KPN, Ziggo, Budget Thuis, hollandsnieuwe and Youfone. Introductory prices range from €15 to €51 per month, and average monthly prices across the contract run from €20 to €57.25. Download speeds start at 30 Mbps and reach 8000 Mbps on the fastest fibre connections, with upload speeds between 3 and 8000 Mbps. Some cheaper plans undercut the one-month option on price, but they come with longer commitments. If cost matters most, our budget internet overview lists the lower-priced plans.

Weighing flexibility against commitment
Most plans require a longer stay: 32 plans run for twelve months and another 32 for twenty-four months, leaving just one with a one-month term. If you are certain you will stay for a year or more, a longer contract may give you more choice of speed and price. If your plans are uncertain, the monthly option avoids being tied to a contract you might need to end early. Newcomers can find wider guidance in our internet guide for expats, and 5G home internet may also suit people who move often.
Check what reaches your home
Availability depends on your exact address. Which networks are installed varies from street to street, so a plan that works in one building may not be offered in the next. Fibre, cable and DSL each cover different areas, and speeds can differ even where a connection is present. Enter your postcode and house number in the comparison to see which plans are available at your address, including whether the one-month option is among them. Doing this early is sensible, as installation can take time and a temporary stay leaves little room for delay.
How this comparison works
Prices are checked on the providers' own websites every day, so the figures reflect what is currently offered. The sortable comparison can be ordered by download speed, introductory price or average monthly price, letting you put whatever matters most at the top. The Check offer button is an advertisement: if you sign up through it, we may earn a commission. That commission does not change the euro price you pay or the order in which plans appear.
