How we earn money

InternetNetherlands.nl is a comparison and information site. It is not an internet provider and it does not sell a connection.

Plan buttons leave this site through an affiliate link. If you continue from there and take out a plan, we may earn a commission. That commission is paid via the partner. It does not change the published prices in euros, the contract length or the advertised speed, and it does not change how this page sorts plans.

The link is filtered around that plan's download speed. You enter your postcode and house number on the next page.

We check the providers' own websites for these prices, and we keep checking them. USD and GBP are conversions for reading. The provider still charges euros.

DSL Internet in the Netherlands – Compare Plans

DSL runs over the existing telephone line, so it is often available where fibre or cable is not. This page compares 16 DSL plans from KPN, Youfone, Budget Thuis and Odido. Below you will find the price and speed ranges, how contract length affects cost, why your address matters and how our comparison is put together.

Is DSL the right connection for you?

DSL is worth considering if your home has no fibre or cable connection, or if you mainly browse, stream and work online without moving very large files. Download speeds on the plans we track run from 30 to 200 Mbps, while upload sits between 3 and 30 Mbps, which is lower than many fibre plans. If you need fast uploads, compare our fibre plans or the cable options before deciding. For everyday use in a small household, DSL can still be a practical choice.

DSL prices and speeds in figures

Across the 16 DSL plans, the introductory price ranges from €15 to €26 per month. Because introductory offers usually end, the average monthly price over the contract is a better guide: it runs from €20 to €33.33. Download speeds start at 30 Mbps and go up to 200 Mbps, and upload ranges from 3 to 30 Mbps. A higher speed usually costs more, so pick the speed your household actually uses. If price matters most, our page on budget internet deals shows more low-cost options.

One-year or two-year DSL contracts

The DSL plans we compare are split evenly: 8 come with a 12-month contract and 8 with a 24-month contract. A shorter contract gives you the freedom to switch sooner, which helps if you expect fibre to reach your street or plan to move. A longer contract can come with a different introductory deal, so compare the average monthly price rather than the first month alone. That figure spreads any discount across the full term and makes plans of different lengths easier to weigh up.

Why the speed you get depends on where you live

DSL availability and speed depend on your exact address. The connection runs over copper telephone lines, and the distance between your home and the nearest street cabinet affects how much of the advertised speed you receive. Two neighbouring streets can therefore see different maximum speeds. Enter your postcode and house number to see which of the 16 plans are available at your address. To understand what different speeds mean in daily use, read our guide to choosing the right internet speed.

How InternetNetherlands.nl compares DSL plans

We check prices on the providers' own websites every day, so the figures reflect current offers from KPN, Youfone, Budget Thuis and Odido. You can sort the comparison by download speed, introductory price or average monthly price. For details on one provider, see our KPN provider page, or return to the overview of internet providers netherlands.

The Check offer button is an advertisement. If you sign up, we may earn a commission. That commission never changes the euro price you pay or the sort order.
