How we earn money

InternetNetherlands.nl is a comparison and information site. It is not an internet provider and it does not sell a connection.

Plan buttons leave this site through an affiliate link. If you continue from there and take out a plan, we may earn a commission. That commission is paid via the partner. It does not change the published prices in euros, the contract length or the advertised speed, and it does not change how this page sorts plans.

The link is filtered around that plan's download speed. You enter your postcode and house number on the next page.

We check the providers' own websites for these prices, and we keep checking them. USD and GBP are conversions for reading. The provider still charges euros.

How Much Does Internet Cost in the Netherlands?

Moving to or living in the Netherlands means choosing a home internet plan, and prices vary widely. This page sets out what 65 plans from seven providers cost each month, how fast they are, how long contracts run and how the connection type affects the figures. What you pay each month across 65 plans

Across the 65 plans we compare, the introductory price runs from €15 to €51 per month. The average monthly price ranges from €20 to €57.25. This is the published average over the whole contract, not a calculated yearly total. Download speeds start at 30 Mbps and reach 8000 Mbps, while upload speeds span 3 Mbps to 8000 Mbps. The seven providers are Odido, DELTA, KPN, Ziggo, Budget Thuis, hollandsnieuwe and Youfone. If keeping costs low is your priority, our page on budget-friendly internet narrows the field.

Fibre, cable and DSL side by side

Fibre accounts for 30 plans, with introductory prices of €20 to €51, average monthly prices of €28.33 to €57.25 and matching download and upload speeds of 200 to 8000 Mbps. See our fibre internet plans. Cable covers 18 plans at €17.50 to €34.95 introductory and €26.25 to €47.50 on average, with 100 to 2000 Mbps down and 25 to 300 Mbps up. Compare cable broadband deals. DSL offers 16 plans from €15 to €26 introductory and €20 to €33.33 on average, at 30 to 200 Mbps down and 3 to 30 Mbps up. These are listed under DSL connections.

Contract lengths in the comparison

Most plans tie you in for a fixed period. Of the 65 plans, 32 run for 12 months and 32 for 24 months, while just one can be taken on a one-month basis. Fibre, cable and DSL are each split evenly between the two longer terms: fibre has 15 plans of each length, cable 9 and DSL 8. A shorter term gives you room to switch if you move again or your needs change. A longer one fixes your arrangement for more time. Compare the average monthly price as well as the introductory figure, because it reflects the cost across the contract you sign.

Why your address matters

Not every connection reaches every home. Whether you can get fibre, cable or DSL depends on your exact address, including the postcode and house number. A plan that looks attractive may simply not be offered where you live. Only some providers in our list run fibre plans, and cable is offered by Ziggo, DELTA and hollandsnieuwe. Check availability for your address before you decide. If you do not need television, our overview of internet without TV shows the plans that focus on the connection alone.

How our comparison is put together

Prices are checked on the providers' own websites every day, so the figures reflect what each provider currently publishes. You can sort the comparison by download speed, introductory price or average monthly price, depending on what matters most to you. The Check offer button is an advertisement: if you sign up, we may earn a commission. That commission does not change the euro price you pay or the order in which plans appear.
